Parenthood! What a great film! (If memory serves me correctly.) It was great to think about that movie this morning. About back in the day when Keanu used to play that adorable doofus. Tom Hulce! I feel like that guy had so much potential that he never fully got to reach. Amadeus, I effing loved him in that!

But while I would happily sit and think about it all morning, I kept getting distracted by things you were saying, Mate. Like how Mary Steenburgen looks like Joan Rivers. Um, I think Mary is looking pretty good. She looks like this, you know:

And I don’t know if you know what J.Rivs looks like, but it is this:

And you know how you said Joaqs look really sad now? Well, yeah, he does:

But do you  remember Parenthood at all. He just about broke my teenage heart in every scene. Like this one, where he is asking his dad if he can go live with him and then his Dad is all, “it’s not a good time, what with my hot new wife and family” and Joaqs is all, “ok” with his quavery breaking teenage voice…

You've seen it, right? It is such a great movie.
I think.
Truth be told, I haven't seen it in about 10 years, so I'm working from my memory of it here. There is a chance that it hasn't stood the test of time (see: Fight Club; the work of Ben Stiller, not including The Royal Tenenbaums).  But I'm pretty sure it is an awesome movie. Lets list its attributes!

• Pretty much everyone from the late 1980s is in it. Steve Martin. Dianne Weist. Mary Steenburgen. Tom Hulce. Rick Moranis.  Jason Robards. Martha Plimpton. Keanu. Baby Joaquin Phoenix. If Bill Murray was involved it would seriously be everyone.
• Its really funny. Steve Martin!
• Its really moving. Steve Martin! I mean, baby Joaquin Phoenix!Actually, heaps of it, but the story that pertains to Dianne Wiest and her kids is may favourite bit of movingness I think.
• It will make you laugh/cry/fall in love all over again. Like LIFE guys. Just like life.

Plus, everyone in it is so young and beautiful. Mary Steenburgen looks so fresh faced and adorable, unlike these days where she looks like Joan Rivers.

Green porn is so awesome. I had actually never seen it before, so for me, this morning's post was really about discovering an awesome thing, rather than remembering it. That's fine too guys. Like J said, Miss Soft Crab is really just about having a wonderful time.
