What is Prince William up to? (PM)

If you ask me, Prince William doesn't look too happy about those guys crossing swords in front of his wife either. Even if those swords are really torches. Come on, guy, you are the Duke of Cambridge, stand up for yourself.

So check it out. Prince William has also been saving the heck out of people!  Just last night he saved a woman in Wales who fell down a cliff and last week he saved a drowning teenager! Way to do a great job in the RAF!

I guess this is what it looks like when Prince William is about to save people

Also, it appears that the Prince has been looking quite handsome in a beard.

So he saves damsels in distress and looks handsome. This prince is performing the shit out of his princely duties if you ask me!

What is Prince William up to? (AM)

The other day, I was catching up on my favourite blog, Miss Soft Crab. No, really. I was bored and I thought I would read old Miss Soft Crab entries. What a great time I had! You guys should keep it in mind for next time you're bored.
In addition to amusing me a great deal, it reminded me that we have a LOT of tags for our posts. There  are our oft-used favourites ( please see WTF, Best Things, Food), but there are also many many more we have used just once or twice (see: terror, so much ugh and sounds like my friday night).

Perhaps the most surprising tag I stumbled upon was 'Prince William'. I know, on this blog? Surprised the shit out of me too. Turns out J referred to him a couple of times back in the early days of MSC and then we haven't give him another look since.

Doesn't seem very nice, does it? Shall we check in and see what he's been up to? Ok then!

Well, unsurprisingly, he's been going to the Olympics with his wife a fair bit.

That looks like fun, doesn't it?
He's also been dressing up in his pilot outfit.

Such a good one.
And because he's such a cool guy, it looks like he's also been going along with it while a couple of dudes cross swords in front of his wife.

Harry looks appropriately dubious.
What a cool guy.

Perhaps most importantly though, I am pleased to advise that like most future kings, he's also been getting himself noticed as a subject for art, albeit in a supporting role for his wife and grandmother in this hilarious Tim Key poem.

So that's Prince William. Tomorrow we will revisit another infrequently used MSC tag. Maybe Boreanaz?

(We're not really going to do that.)

Romantic schmomantic

Inspired by this interview with Prince William and Kate Middleton that you showed me some weeks ago in which they make multiple claims that he is a real romantic* and the approach of my birthday I've been thinking about this romantic business. I guess I was thinking, what does this even mean, "I'm a real romantic"? You see I was also thinking, I wonder if I will experience this "real romantic" business on my birthday. But I both did and I didn't. Because I'm pretty sure that what Prince William and K.Mid were talking about was just some bullshit.

I mean, LB won't book dinner at a fancy restaurant (except once when I pretty much made him) or give me jewellery (except twice, once when I told him exactly what I wanted and once when the jewellery shop owner he works for sometimes bullied him into taking some earrings for free one Valentines day). But he bought me exactly what I wanted for my birthday.

And whenever he sees something in an op shop he knows I will like he always, ALWAYS buys it for me. Especially when he is interstate, but often just for no reason. Like this one time, he bought me an Eminem biography. And another time a David Bowie biography. David Bowie, now if that isn't romance I don't know what is.

And this other time he bought me this beautiful serving service!

But I bet if we were being interviewed and I said LB is a real romantic and used these examples they would scoff. (Not cool people, losers I mean.)

And why is it always the man that is called a romantic? Why couldn't I be called a romantic.

Once when I was making baked beans for LB, I wrote 'I heart u' in cheese on the top. I bet no Prince has ever done that.

Just cause ol' Princey can afford to take his lady to Africa to propose in some fancy mountain top something (is that even the story? I don't really know) really doesn't make him anymore romantic than anyone else. Sheesh.

*I couldn't be bothered watching the whole thing and only saw them each claim this once. But I'll believe you, K.

the abject and the abject

I love eggplant. I love it so much. The way it gets all caramelly and delicious. Shit, I love it. I love mushrooms too and so I guess what I am saying is that the eggplant and mushroom thing you ate is very, very appealing to me.

You know what is not appealing to me. A caesarean. I just can not come at asking someone to cut me open. To be perfectly honest birth au naturel is incredibly unappealing to me also. Oh god. I mean that shit is super, super painful. Traumatic in fact. Ugghhhh. Really traumatic. But still I would go with that whenever possible. I think. Now. That I am not actually facing that decision. I hope Lil does some good research before making any decisions, cause I'm pretty sure that epidural is a very common anaesthetic for caesars too. I guess the fact is that no matter how you do it, some pretty unpleasant stuff is going to have to happen for you to get your baby out.

And while I guess I should now address the royal wedding I just feel like I can't go on without addressing that total gross out by AB. Dude, that is some gross shit. But I guess I am kind of impressed by her dedication to food. I mean I thought I loved food. I don't like to see anything go to waste. I'll eat the food off another person's plate. But out of someones mouth! As Chickpea said to me recently, "gross me the fuck out!" And also a little bit, "word!"

So LB asked me the other day if you were coming over to watch the royal wedding. I was all, "What do you think this is, the Oscars?!" Surprisingly, I have no problems missing this wedding. I think a run down and some pictures tomorrow are going to satisfy me. Even though I do kind of love the Prince, especially since LB's mother met him recently. Yep, my mother-in-law (sans law) was talking to the Prince. See!
