Hour of shower (AM)

The other night I had an hour of shower. It was rad. Rad! I didn't shower for that whole hour. I'm not an animal. I showered - washed my hair, exfoliated body and face - then I turned off the shower and sat in the bath with a face mask on. Then I showered everything off me and got out. And THEN I moisturised my body, put four beauty products on my face and blow dried my hair. I went in at 10pm after The Movie Show, which is technically called At the Movies, finished and then I got into bed at 11.

In my fantasy world I do this regularly. But let me make it completely clear that my fantasy world is a fantasy and not reality at all. In my fantasy world I probably have an hour of shower where I perform all the additional grooming tasks at least once a week. And naturally I'd look good and feel great as a result. I know most normal people don't do face masks and exfoliating and body moisturising regularly but I want to. Though I never have. I do s prolonged grooming session about once every six months maybe. I think how nice it is and how I'd love to do it regularly. You know. What I just said. I think it's what called a vicious cycle.

This ultra grooming fantasy exists in the same fantasy world in which I wake up an hour before everyone in my house and do exercise. But it's a different fantasy world to the one where I win Tattslotto. Or get a really great, satisfying, well-paid job. Which may exist in the Tattslotto fantasy world. What can I say, I've got a rich inner life.

I'd consider adding hour of shower to my spring resolutions but I feel conflicted about prioritising grooming to that extent. As if 41 posts bearing the 'grooming' tag isn't testimony enough to my vanity. God, when did showers become so complicated?!

Summer whites (AM)

White clothes in winter can be really nice. Though me, I tend to opt for cream in that cold season. But when summer comes around I want white, white, white. It's so fresh and cooling you know. And if you can pair it with grey, even better. Mmmmmm cold.

It is why, despite a long-running, one-sided feud with Gorman I had to be the bigger man and buy these shoes for summer.

In fact they are super light grey, practically white, basically mixing my two favourite summer colours into one single colour. Well played,  Gorman, you may have won this round...

It is also why I have been wanting a white Swatch for ages.

I finally bought one when we were in America and then lost it shortly after returning home. But this weekend, while crawling under the bed Baby saw something stuck between the mattress and the slats he liked the look of*, and hey presto, I got my watch back just in time to fit into all my fantasy summer outfits. Yeah boyyeeee.

Also, this love of white is, I guess, why I can't stop thinking about buying these.

And, if I'm to be honest, by the end of the week they will probably be mine.

What I really want is to dress in white and light grey all the time when it's hot, but the sweat and chilli oil of summer means sometimes I gotsta dress more practical like, you know. That's why ya gotta accesorise. Aight?! White!

*Swatches tick really, really loudly, I guess I stuffed the watch under the mattress in a sleepy stupor.

Friday, I've got springtime on my mind (AM)

I think that it would be fair to say that this winter really has been a winter. It has been cold and wet. And sometimes cold and sunny. I'm not complaining. No way. A season that acts the way a season is meant to! I respect that. And I know it is only early August and there 3 more official weeks of winter and probably 6 more unofficial ones, but gee, all that sunshine last week really whet my spring fashion appetite. The killer of it is that the cold, sunny days - though lovely, really I am not complaining, just observing - they give me a taste for spring, but you still got to rug up. So in my mind I'm already fantasising about the outfits I will bust out as soon as I can, even though in reality those outfits are months away. Yeah, I run cold and I'll be wearing jumpers and socks for what feels like ever.

Some of the things I can not stop thinking about wearing include:

T-shirts. God I love t-shirts. I just fantasise about wearing t-shirts with jeans all the time. And when I really let myself go, I imagine wearing t-shirts with shorts! I don't even like wearing shorts that much but I just like to imagine it because it means that it would be so warm.

You know what else I want to wear? Shirts.

Oh man, I've got this one floral shirt that saw about 15 minutes of daylight the other day. All my poor pretty shirts have been stuck under jumpers for so long, they've probably got rickets.

How about shoes that aren't boots.

Oh yeah baby. A shoe that sits right on my foot without socks or stockings. Shut up!

And how about colours! Shit!

Colours. I mean, I know I was all "Navy is the colour for me!" And "Monochrome for life!" and I still feel that way, but imagine wearing some other colours, just once in a while, you know. Ooooh, colours, I'm gonna wear you so good come springtime!
